For the KOF, bringing excellent classical and operatic music to the greater Kenosha community is a serious mission. Opera 'Round K-Town is our program to bring performances to all kinds of Kenoshans wherever they are.
EMOJIS GO TO THE OPERA
In partnership with Carthage College, we take kids through what opera is, all the different varieties of emotions you can find in opera and match emojis to what's happening onstage!
This concert is made possible by the Racine Community Foundation.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER
BY GREGORY BERG
Birds of a Feather is an upcoming family and children's production completely free to the public and appropriate for all ages, in partnership with the Kenosha Library System and featuring our Fellows.
The story is based on the characters from Mozart's The Magic Flute with a message of accepting people for who they are. In this short, English language opera by beloved local artist and radio host, Greg Berg, the couple who sang a whole duet about having lots of kids struggles to actually parent when they and their kids have different ideas about what they should be getting up to... There will be a food truck, a book sale, and a LOT of fun for you and your family!
AT THE KENOSHA KINGFISH
On two occasions this summer, July 16th and 24th, the KOF will sing the national anthem at a local baseball home game for the Kenosha Kingfish! See you there!
POP-UP AT THE MARKET
AT THE KENOSHA HARBOR MARKET
On the morning of July 17, our fellows sing for and engage with the public on your weekend trip to the lovely Kenosha Harbor Market. We'll only be there for a day, so make sure you come out to get your fresh produce when we're around - and learn a little bit more about opera!
